In light of the state of emergency in the country, the "RURAL TOURISM DEVELOPMENT" program, a collaborative effort between the Armenian branch of the German Nature Protection Union (NABU) and the ACBA Federation, has been postponed. However, we are pleased to announce that the program will now be resumed in 2020. The primary objective of this initiative is to promote the growth of tourism in rural communities and provide local residents with new opportunities to create and expand their ideas in the field of rural tourism.
Currently, rural tourism is experiencing a rapid growth trend, with an increasing number of tourists choosing to spend their vacations in rural settings. Armenia, with its distinctive environment, historical landmarks, and rural charm, stands out as a prime destination. The country possesses immense potential for rural tourism to emerge as a leading sector for providing tourist services in Armenia.
Within the "Rural Tourism Development" program, the following initiatives will be carried out this year:
- Construction of an eco-trail
- Grant tenders focused on the following themes:
- Farmer's life
- Newly constructed Guest houses
- Operating Guest houses
Consulting and marketing campaign for beneficiaries
Eco-trail construction
Eco-trails have gained popularity as a means of engaging in outdoor activities while exploring the unique characteristics of a region. The construction of a new trail is envisioned to preserve natural resources and facilitate the growth of tourism in the area.
